Today, my 2-year-old son put his hand on my face, gave me a sweet kiss, and put his cheek against mine. Then he slapped me hard enough to leave a mark, laughed, and scrambled away. FML

He's a reverse sour patch kid. Sweet. Sour. Gone.

Did you punish him?! Had I done that when I was little I would get timeout and a whopping

based on recent experience, I an kind of shocked I have not been moderated for being insensitive to bad uncles or uncles... or people who are bad...

You better have punished him.

Never let people get too close. This proves it

This is why I don't miss the toddler phase of my child's life. The terrible twos are the worst. My daughter never hit, but she would walk up to someone and lick the side of their face and run off giggling. She loved the creeped out reactions everybody would get.

What this really should say..."Today, my son slapped me so he got to learn what a bare bottomed spanking feels like."

you people who think the kid is going to grow up thinking it's okay to slap people are 1. wrong and 2. obviously don't have kids. discipling a two year old is like talking to a wall. they understand what you are saying, and know the consequences, but will do it time, and time again. that's why it's called terrible twos, they test you every chance they get. my son is two and does the exact same thing to me and he gets time out for it, and he knows he will, but he still does it. you people that like to judge and be rude need to have a kid exactly like this to see how it feels and what you would do in this situation. i understand op!!! it's okay!!!
