Fortunato_18 tells us more.
Just a couple of points I wanna touch on: 1) the shag rug: haha not my choice! It came with my apartment, where the rug is one of the least awful things about it. 2) I know I should have had the nail polish out of reach, but we were planning on painting my daughters nails as soon as one of us got the chance. She's never done anything like that before so I didn't think to lock it up. We did have a chat about it though, and it hasn't been an issue since (this happened a few weeks ago) 3)Thank you for the removal tips! Hopefully I can find one that works :)

Just use nail polish remover
Sometimes you can't because Nail Polish Remover destroys wood finishes and linens among other things. Plus from personal experience I've found that Nail Polish remover also makes your entire house smell like awful chemicals.
Why was your 5 year old unsupervised for so long? Ydi.
It doesn't really take long to spill and make a mess of things.
it takes literally 8 seconds for a kid to create chaos... it's inevitable
you clearly don't have children
You still Deserve It. Never trust a young child will not get in to anything, no matter how well-behaved they are. Their natural child instincts can come out at any time, just as you experienced.
hairspray works amazing. once I spilled nail polish in my room on the carpet and the trim work! use a generous amount of hairspray ad blot for carpet and scrub for the wood it may take 10 minutes but it's well worth it! hope this helps it did for me!
Nail varnish remover! Copious amounts of nail varnish remover! X
Probably should keep a better eye on your kid...there goes your security deposit.
Winning Color's. try finding it does miracles
