Today, my 70 year-old coworker gave me a letter telling me he was attracted to me, and wishes to have a relationship in which he can 'hold me in his arms every night'. I'm 21. FML

This is totally a FML. The guy is almost 50 years older than her! He was 49 when she was BORN. It isn't shallow to have standards and I think most set their standard to no more then 10-20 years older then them. PLUS, why don't you call the old guy shallow? What the hell does he want from a 21 year old? What is she an "old soul?" NO! He wants some young little thing to bone because they look better then a 70 year old woman does (not that 70 year old woman are automatically ugly or anything). If he wasn't shallow he would want someone with a little life experience and near his age, but he picked some random 21 year old GIRL. FYL.

"Hold me in his arms every night." Isn't that sweet? I'd have said, "I'd like to teabag you." Here's what you do: bone him a few times, get him to put you in his will and just wait for the Grim Reaper. (If he takes you home to meet his 100-year-old parents, you may be waiting a while.) You'd be surprised at what older men can do to make young women happy -- real happy.

woah woah woah. what the hell kind of place hires a 70 year old to begin with?

The company I work for actually hires anyone from the ages 18 to ...well if someone was 100 and was still mobile, I'm sure they would hire them.

Ewww gross! Sexual harassment! Tell your manager!

dtp882 - you're the creepy old man aren't you

That's okay. I'm on a website called myYearbook. As soon as I turned 18 I started getting old men hitting on me randomly. One of them sent a sticker that said, "I want to kiss you call over". He was 56 (older than my mother I might add), and exceptionally wrinkly... Just tell him he's too old for you, or tell your boss. Unless he's like George Clooney, then I'll ask what you're complaining about =P

What's wrong with people? Is he that self-centered that he'd do something that would obviously make you impossibly uncomfortable in your own work place just to get his jollies? Tell human resources and he'll probably get fired for inappropriate conduct.

this story could have been so much worse.

Big deal. It's a note. About a relationhip and holding you in his arms. I don't think that's sexual, much less sexual harrasment. Nor a FML. He didn't corner you, give you the creepy eye and drool as he said it while straining to look down your cleavage. I applaud him for being straight and non-threatening with you. Give him a little respect back and give him a straight answer. Someone you don't find attractive found you attractive. Welcome to the real world where these things happen. Remember this when some hunk you like turns you down someday.
