Why are you bitching? Would you feel the same way if they hired someone to paint the walls? It's part of their business, and it's their office. If they want to do something, then that's their decision. That's just the image they're going for. You're an intern. You have a choice to work there.

YDI. You knew it was an internship when you applied. Internships are specifically for younger people without work experience to learn the skills in order to land a job in the field that pays and possibly gain college credit while at it. It benefits both: the company (who cuts back on the payroll) and the intern (who gets ahead in the business while young). You should be lucky because internship spaces are limited and you have a foot in the door in a field you want, and you have a better chance at starting off in a higher position when you DO get a paying job than somebody else who never had the internship. Quit bitching. If you want instant money, go get a job in retail. Holy shit.
