Today, my boss hired a feng shui consultant for our small office space. I am the only full-time employee besides the owners, and I work as an unpaid intern. My company would rather pay someone to rearrange my desk than pay me to work at it. FML

31, That's not necessarily true. I'm majoring in Accounting and Marketing and I got an unpaid internship that had a one year duration. I had to turn it down because there is no bloody way I would work for free for a whole year. The company was new to the area and they wanted me to basically coordinate the marketing and accounting departments. In addition to my full time work as a substitute teacher, I had to turn them down since I wasn't being paid. It would've been good for the hands-on experience if I had taken it though which may be why OP took the internship. That or for college credit.

Anyone who takes an unpaid internship is a bloody idiot, if you're gonna do work, get a damn paycheck for it, even if it's minimum wage. ESPECIALLY IF ITS FULL TIME!
