Today, my boss reprimanded me in front of the rest of the staff for "not following instructions" because I went to a company meeting. I have the email from him telling me to go to the meeting. He thinks I faked it. Unemployment sucks. FML

Hopefully, it wasn't a job in which termination is at will. That way, you have leverage for litigation. That said, before you leave for good, make sure you shit on Debra's desk, eat a bagel, and send some faxes. Then jump out the window.

I say this is BS. If it was a company meeting, and you work for the company, why would you need an email specifically from your boss telling you to go? And also, why would your boss expect you to NOT go?

Your boss had it in for you and set you up. The good news is that with a documented phony cause, you have a better lawsuit than had he simply fired you without cause. When my ex-boss told me it would be "fun" for me to flash my junk to his secretary, it was just verbal.
