I created an account just to ask this: How high were you to think that Comic Sans is a professional enough font to use to send a report to the board of directors? Might as well throw in emoticons in your report. " LOL Our profits are in the toilet T_T :((("
This.

Show it anywayDisgusting? Inappropriate, yes.
damn straight. if I was op's boss, I would have said the same thing
I suppose knowing your line of work may help in our judgement of your choice of font.
Your boss ought to be thankful you didn't write it using wingdings :)
YDI, Comic Sans is for 5 year olds
And, lets not forget, COMICS!
How is it that dumbasses like this get hired for good jobs while a vet like me with a Bach gets passed over? And times new roman, idiot.
I'm a Tahoma fan. Less mainstream.
Tahoma is also acceptable, as well as Calibri in most cases. To submit something before a board though, you want it to look as professional as possible, you never know what they might say when you use a different font. I say always Times New Roman that shit, its what every paper you write at most Universities in the US state you must use, so I feel it's just considered the most respectable font.
I think Times New Roman is actually falling out of favour a bit. I got told not to use it on my cv by my uni because apparently it looks like you're trying too hard or something....I'll admit I'm kind of bored with it anyhow. Still, anything's better than Comic Sans.
Just because you're a veteran doesn't automatically qualify you for every job in the universe.
yes it does, specially if you're a former marine
#119 "Oh you're a veteran of the marines? Yes, you're definitely qualified to be a heart surgeon!" -_-
Oh your job is to fight wars you haven't been invited to and pose no threat whatsoever to anyone ever? I'll hire you as a CEO.
I mean he fought for the US. (My/Americans country) Like at least give the man an opportunity to earn some money; and I think vets should get priority over locales
I do think that your boss maybe slightly overreacted, but you definitely deserve it. You should know Comic Sans isn't a professional font to use.
Next time try the Harry Potter font. I hear that one goes over well in formal reports.
This is actually true and most people don't recognize it as the Harry Potter font. I've used it for applying for grants and school essays.

I don't know what you were thinking, writing a report in comic sans and expecting people to take you seriously.
