Awh D; I feel so sorry for you :(
He's a jerk but you really need to see someone about that.
That's really harsh. I can understand that he might think it's funny if he doesn't understand how seriously it bothers you. You definately need to explain how seriously it affects you, and if he misunderstood then I'm sure it'll all be fine. However, if he was doing it because he knew how much it really bothered you and still found it funny, it might be time to consider alternatives.
I used to do exactly what OP does, being put in situations where you can't do your obsesssive behaivure is exactly what you need to kick it. it's was carried out wrong but the idea behind it was good. If he just kept humouring her it wouldn't help at all...
#94 Exactly. Enduring situations that you're uncomfortable with is the right way to treat OCD, but not in the way that OP's boyfriend tried to "help." Forcing someone to be in an uncomfortable situation won't help. The person with OCD has to make the decision to be in that situation themselves.
That's the right way to treat it. Showing them their anxioity goes away after a while is the only way to treat OCD.
get over yourself its a joke.
#68 Not for OP. I agree with you, Cinn.
68- Wtf? Was this a misplaced comment?
Jose, do you have phobias? Or compulsive issues? Whether you do or don't, imagine having one so bad that you'll have a panic attack if someone forces you to face them. PhillyFox made an excellent point with the bucket of spiders and someone suffering from arachnophobia. It stops being a joke at some point.
hey cinn. how's it going
Er, hi. It's going fine, and yourself? Though this isn't really what the comment thread is for. I think they're all supposed to be relevent to the FML.
cinn u have to have to have the most boring posts I've ever read on these things.
Do you know what the simplest solution to that is then, xBHD31095x? Don't read them. :)
cinn, I'm sorry for trying to be nice. i thought that I could try and be nice anywhere including a forum. my bad.
yeah like for me... I am terrified of balloons :/ yeah yeah laugh all you want -.-. (though it is kinda humourous :D). anyways sorry OP I'd explain it to your bf.. educate him.
cinn-ball-face, get off your high horse. get back to reality that is your snotty comments. get over yourself
FMLrelapse - Sorry, but I didn't mean it like that. I was trying to prevent you from getting moderated, as it used to be that casual conversations were moderated, and I think they still are somewhat. Though it does depend on which the mods see. Nice is good, especially in places like this where it's vastly undermined. Sorry. Hoshiryuu - I know someone who has a phobia of mayonaise. Some are amusing, but it doesn't make them less serious. Gloritank - You are a perfect example of why we need more nice people on this site. Jose - What have I done to merit being hit in the face with a ball? Or any of that comment really. Was it because I tried to tell you that in cases of real OCD its not a joke? Or because I've got fed up of trolls?
(I apologise in advance to the moderators, but if the haters/trolls continue like they have done recently, there'll be a lot more of these) Gloritank; piss off.
No. I just needed to swear at something. But then, might I ask why you feel the need to be nasty to others? Is it to try and cover up your own shortcomings? Or maybe you think that it's 'cool', which leads me to believe that you are nowhere near cool because only idiots believe it's cool to be nasty to others...
Gloritank: Cinn is not ugly at all. I don't know what your problem is! Back off.
No I'm just bored and have a love to argue and if needed insult others. I definitely don't think I'm cool, but for some strange reason several friends think I am. And as for shortcomings who doesn't gave them. the trick is to use them for you or to turn them into something positive. I'm just angry at people telling her to break up with him. Yes OCD is a disease but not something likely to kill her and if she could use a little mental power I am sure it could be overcome.
I'm more capable of defending myself from you than you are of spelling me name anyhow. :P Nerds is being a nice person and sticking up for those who she thinks should have it. 'If needed', what did I do to 'need' insulting? And if you meant 'have' with the short comings, I'll give you that, and yes, that is what I do. But I prefer debating with people rather than arguing and involving childish insults. I don't remember saying the OP should definitely dump her bf about this, I said that she should talk to him about how serious it was for her. I said that if he knew how serious it was and he did it to see her properly freak because he's a jerk that he should dump her. There is a difference. And yes, with the appropriate therapy it might be possible for the OP to overcome it, it depends on the person and the actual therapy they receive.
Immature insults like that are never "needed" in an argument. They don't help your case, they just make people think you're an asshole.
So if you give him a hand job, when he's done you have to do it again with the other hand?
all you stupid ***** saying make him an ex. you are the reason guys with girlfriends never hang out with their bros, one little thing and you get mad. shut the **** up
#44 and #49, it's not just 'one little thing' and it doesn't cause 'no harm.' It can really affect people. The problem isn't the people who are telling her to dump him, but rather your parents' lack on birth control on the nights you two were conceived because it led to your insensitive comments.
punch him where it hurts then punch him again with the other hand. It's killing two birds with one stone. But more like two stones with one bird... anw you won't feel the anxiety attacks AND he'll get what he deserves^^
He shouldn't get dumped, this is hilarious! He was just screwing around, no harm. I can just about imagine it.. Haha
Well it does depend how serious the OP's OCD is, and whether or not the boyfriend knows how serious, because he might view it as harmless fun whilst the OP is genuinely freaking. However, `if` he knows exactly what he's doing, then he's being a jerk.
Lol. Sorry for you but that is funny. Just calm down and think in your head about how your going to get him back when he least expects it. Right fist to face, left fist to face, right fist to groin, left fist to groin etc... ;-)
#43, do you really have the right to say something like that? Do you suffer from OCD? It's not something that just goes away if you suddenly decide to stop being 'such a pussy.' Grow up.

whthe... surely you mean ex... why on earth would he think that would be funny? Oo....
so... if you accidentally touch a strangers butt- do you have to do it again?
