I don't believe this. If he was really Japanese and his parents were really Japanese, then he would hold the utmost respect for his parents, and therefore would not want them to be offended. Also, why would he waste the time to introduce his girlfriend to his parents, only for it all to end badly?

I think Japanese parents are very reserved. Something like that would not be very favourable. Maybe learn its over in Japense, make him understand that shit is not on.
