Today, my computer stopped working. Me, the technology challenged one, decided to do a system recovery on it hoping that I could make it better. Turns out, system recovery means deleting all the files off the computer including family photos, music and assignments and starting fresh. FML

YOU NEVER PUSH BUTTONS WHEN YOU DON'T KNOW FOR SURE WHAT IT WILL DO! Crap! That is one of the first lessons you learn as a child! Didn't your mom tell you not to touch things that you don't know about? Did you not pay attention?

That sucks! This is why you let someone ELSE fix the computer... I'm not very technologically literate, so any time something goes wrong with my computer I go to my brother rather than screw it up worse.

I'm technology challenged too, and even I knew that. The freakin computer TELLS you what a recovery does! Way to read what it says.

Uhm actually, Recovery Checks don't erase anything except the viruses that have been causing your computer issues...

"Me decided to do a system recovery on it hoping that I could make it better." :( Me sad.

How can anyone say you deserved this? It wasn't like you knew what it did! I agree with the other commenters, maybe your files can be recoverd. It's worth a try!

Apparently you're also the grammatically challenged one.

Um a system recovery doesn't mean that.....work at a tech bench ....and yea thats not right a recovery pull info that a computer has saved in a separate location to restore the computer to a like new start with all that stuff...unless a person did back up their stuff and well you get what you did....i would have tried a system restore.....it doesn't get rid of personal files.....get good

Wow. I'm glad you work at a tech bench and your job is not writing manuals or explaining to customers how to do things to their computer, man. That's a really bad explanation you just gave here.

It gives you multiple warnings about lost data. Can't you read?
