Today, my crush finally let me drive his truck for the first time in a empty parking lot, after he told me he liked me. It was so dark that I ended up driving into and pole and totaled his car. Now he hates me. FML

Did you forget the purpose of headlights? I mean come on now, people drive down dark roads without any streetlights just fine, they don't go running into poles. And if you ran into a pole because you were shocked that he liked you, then that's just pathetic

ok...so did noone realize this girl is probably 16 and shes JUST learning to drive so hes letting her use his truck to practice? as a guy who's let a girl learning to drive use his car before, i have to say i've seen a girl do alot stupider things than forget to turn the headlights on

I was totally going to say this. If she has a "crush" and he "likes" her, she's gotta still be in high school. However, it's partially the dude's fault too. Who lets a first-time driver drive at night?

Actually, my first time driving was at night. All the poles in the 5 mile radius were still intact...but some of us know what headights are used for. Obviously the OP should not be behind the wheel.

Well, I'm glad it worked out for you, but that's pretty dumb. Human vision is much worse at night (you can't see color, it's harder to make out depth, and because of that it's harder to judge your own speed and that of others), and if you're not used to handling a car, it's about as safe as driving drunk, even with headlights.

Headlight FAIL. Depending on how fast you were going and how much damage you caused, he's probably a douche for hating you after that. On the other hand I can't figure out how you managed to do that, so I'll say Y probably DI
