Unfortunately that has been how most fathers have seen their daughter for decades & probably won't change anytime soon..I know, it's a double standard. What were you expecting (or hoping for) though, a pack of condoms yourself or a lifetime supply of birth control pills? Some guys don't think about the fact that their wife's fathers weren't exactly thrilled to find out (much less think about) the daughters having sex (with them) to begin with...if you're under 18, it's best to wait anyway.
"What were you expecting"? I dunno, a little basic decency? Starting with not being called a *****?
Why would it be so unreasonable of OP to expect condoms and/or pills, if that's the treatment her brother is getting?
Hypocrite. So its ok for boys to get laid when under 18 but not for girls? Besides not getting called a ***** for having a boyfriend and kissing him a packet of condomes would be apropriate to give to the bigger sister. Or in general some money for her chosen way of contraception.
Sorry, OP. Talk to him about it.
This situation isn't about being an over-protective father. He called her a *****. That's ****** up.
I agree #114, this is a totally messed up situation and he should have never said that. My response wasn't about this FML specifically, it was more in response to #2. I agree with you that this doesn't sound like an overly protective father situation, just straight up double standards and disrespect towards OP.
Hypocrisy much?
Doubles standards gives me hives !
