Today, my daughter managed to crash my car. It's okay though, the insurance will cover it. However, it won't cover all the items she damaged crashing into a garage sale. FML

If she's old enough to drive and crush a car, then she's old enough to start taking responsibility for her actions. Let her get a part-time job to at least help you pay for the personal damages.

Since when does insurance not cover that which you crash into?

Make her pay for it.teach her that what she does does have consequences and she has to pay for those consequences.teach her to grow up and that she should start helping out for buying stuff she really wants. especiallyif it's something expensive.

Actually, the liability portion of your auto insurance should cover that. Your insurance company is pulling a fast one if they tell you otherwise.

Isn't the point of a garage sale to get rid of old junk that you don't want anymore? So, problem solved then :p

Except all that happened was the old junk became old broken junk scattered over a larger area.

What kind of crap is that, why buy incurance if it dont cover. In Norway that is normal to cover.

Wow your insurance is terrible! My insurance covers up to $2m in property damages ... and I thought that was pretty standard. Maybe look for another insurer.

Unless there was something that would make her crash without being her fault, then she needs to take responsibility for the damage she caused by being irresponsible. If it was purely an accident and there was no way she could stop it from happening then punishment would be kind of hard but I still think she should be held somewhat accountable (I.e apologise, offer to help pay for some of the damages/help clean up) but then again if it was purely an accident that wants her fault there might be other ways to solve the problem. I know I sound kinda harsh but that's just my opinion. So, sorry if I offended anyone.

Your insurance should cover Propery Damage for anything your vehicle hits.

If they were having a garage sale they didn't really want that stuff anyway :p
