Well if she isn't 12 and she's smart enough to use comdoms then just sit down with her, ease into the topic, if she doesn't want to talk about it then don't force her to or act like you just read a parenting book and tell her that the conversation will be hypothetical and mostly to make you feel better - don't embarrass her and don't make her feel like sex is bad - it's not, and too many adults have intimacy/sexual issues because their parents had separation issues
