OP here. I made an account so I could follow up. For those of you doubting my parenting: in my household, no banshee-like deed goes unpunished. Yes, this was a school suspension, for those unsure, and it was three weeks, which is pretty reasonable. Sadly, this is a continuation jr. high school for kids who've been permanently expelled (I'm surprised no one asked why she's still in school during the summer), where banshee-like behaviors such as this are not rare.

Blame Canada! (South park song)

IKR? Stars and stripes? Soooooo tacky.

Tis purely a matter of opinion, but alright.
Canada
Is she a megga Degrassi fan? Sometimes people want to live the fantasy lives portrayed in their fav TV shows. Only thing I can think of.
A red and white maple leaf flag. Dumbass
Why climb the pole? She would have been really sorry if she fell eh?

Here in Canada, where your daughter wishes she was, some schools aren't even finished yet. This is the last week of school for the local school board. That's why I didn't wonder.
Im curious as to when this obession began and why. Im very curious.
I'm confused what constitutes "banshee-like deeds". Does this mean she wails when a person is about to die? Also, the way things are in the States, I'm tempted to turn it into Canada as well.
Did a quick check on banshees to see what they have to do with climbing flagpoles. Still makes no sense.
ok your daughter got suspended from a school that she's at for being permanently expelled from other schools? and she was suspended for climbing a flag pole to swap flags?? I don't mean to be rude here OP but is your daughter perhaps not a banshee but 'special'??
I am in Connecticut and schools are still in session, so that's why I didn't ask...
As a veteran did you consider sending her to the local VFW or American Legion to try and explain this act?
Don't worry about judgements!!!! Nothing says you're a bad parent in this FML!!!! xx
I didn't wonder because the district where my friend lives goes 'year round'. They get a week or two off every month depending on which month it is and then they get almost the whole month of December off.
I wasn't curious, because official holidays in the Netherlands (for middle schools) start the sixth of July
When did the obsession start? And how does she have the guts to do that?! 0.0
#122 #124 "I'm curious what makes you so curious"
At #239 : im intrigued as to why the obsession began, when and was it because of an event or person or special connection. Im just a very curious personality and this is an interesting topic to me.
Exactly.
I really hope she's not one of those Hetalia nuts who get obsessed with personifications of countries. ._.
O Canada...
My home and native land..

Alright, I'll bite, "And all thy son's comnand."
* In! I meant "in"!
true north strong and free!
You have to yell "True North" if you're a Jets fan though. Just thought I'd mention that...
O Canada! Terre de nos aïeux...
Ton front est ceint de fleurons glorieux!
Did she get her grade 10 yet.
Well done, excellent Trailer Park Boys reference

She has passion for something that's not drugs or sex. Be proud.
You had one job as a parent OP... Keep her off the pole. And you just couldn't do that, now could you?
