Today, my daughter said "I love you mom", to me for the first time I can remember. She is 16 years old. She said it because I bought her first thong. FML

You're buying your 16 year old daughter a thong. Parenting fail. Maybe there's a reason she never says, "I love you." Hopefully by the time she's 18 she'll have grown out of it like most teenagers do. In the meanwhile, maybe you should try to be more of a mother and less "cool" and you'd get more respect.

124 "opinionater": 1) My point wasn't that "its unchristian people who have 666 in their name". My ACTUAL QUOTE was "Notice how it's always the un-christian people with "666" in their name, that are the ones who shoplift and think that wearing thongs early is OK?" In other words, the people who are un-christian AND have 666 in their name ARE THE ONES WHO SHOPLIFT, WEAR THONGS AT A YOUNG AGE, ETC. ============= 2) Be brought to task? I'll work you son, you're still a boy. Id break you in half. Youre not on my level o yah and if you don't believe me, then read this article I wrote about a week ago. This is the work-out I've been doing for the last few months. (I worked out hard even before then, but only recently have i been workin THIS hard. like this is to the extreme.) My stats are up, everything is bomb. http://www.ehow.com/how_4962510_become-better-athlete-allaround.html Just copy and paste it into the "URL box" at the top, and click enter. There is nothing wrong with a thong/ Gstring people. Ur not an automatic **** if you wear one. At least she is 16 & not 10. That's good that she came around & said I love u. It's a start to a better mom & daughter relationship.

#37: How does underwear lead to babies unless it's on the floor? Underwear is generally for wearing, so I don't think anyone should be jumping to conclusions and assuming that this poor woman will end up turning into a grandmother. Just screwed up. #42: LMFAO. I agree. 16 year old should buy her own underwear. #51: Just because its a thong doesn't mean it's "erotic". Not all thongs are made to look skanky. Many are cute, and comfortable. I think anyone who has gone through puberty is old enough to make their own decisions about what's comfortable, and what they feel good in. Regardless if they show it off or not. And age is only a number. And to the original poster, I don't believe that buying underwear for your child is bad parenting. Last time I checked, clothing is a necessity. Even if it only covers half your ass. (: But I'm sure she'd love you even if you didn't buy them. Teens are interesting creatures, don't let her weird moods and vibes think that you're not a good parent.

i agree with #127... i bought my first thong on my own when i was 14, and i'm a prude compared to most people my age. i plan on abstaining until marriage, so its not like anyones gonna see it. are they the most comfy things in the world? nah, so i only wear them with dresses, leggings & stretchy material things where panty lines are clearly visible. but all these adults are freakin out like its the end of the world. who the hell cares what we wear BENEATH our pants, where no one can see? really. priority check, please.
