Today, my family is going to the USA for Christmas after being lucky and getting their tickets re-booked. My ticket was canceled due to the snow, and will not be re-booked. Merry Christmas to me, myself and a bottle of wine. FML

Today, I found out that my 2 week Christmas vacation my boss was talking about wasn't for this year, but 2010. I spent the day with my husband cancelling flights to Florida, and explaning to my 8 year old why we were not going to Disney World. FML

Today, I’d finally saved up enough to buy flights home for Christmas. After putting in the info several times, it wouldn’t work, so my husband decided to try and “help.” Not only did he buy flights to the wrong place, but now I have to wait another 5-7 days to be refunded. FML

Today, after our Christmas plans got cancelled because of COVID, to make ourselves feel better we made travel plans somewhere else, which also turned into a red zone the night before our departure, we are now going out for breakfast as our highlight of the year. Thankfully they are open. FML

Today, I treated my out of town family to a surprise opera experience as a belated Christmas present. When we arrived, there were people already in our seats. Upon checking the tickets, I realized that I had purchased them for the following Friday instead of today. FML

Today, my girlfriend's dad called to say she wasn't allowed to come with me on a three-day trip on New Year's. He waited until Christmas to say it, even though we booked and paid for the trip nearly a month ago. Now he ruined both holidays. FML

Today, besides the fact that I hate Christmas since my parents divorced, my mom told me she can't come this year with my sister because of no money. We even offered to pay for their tickets, but she won't come because of the "last minute" stress. Fuck this year. FML

All these comments about America sucking are making me angry. Seriously, shut the hell up. Have any of you ever been out of your houses? America is BEAUTIFUL. Colorado for the mountain people? Florida for the beach people? New York, Chicago for the city people? Not to mention Brown, Columbia, Yale, MIT, the dozens of schools people overseas move here to attend. Our political system, screwed up as it may be, is still one of the top of the world. I've been to nine countries in Europe and loved them, by the way, if anybody was wondering. My grandparents emigrated here from the east about sixty years ago, so no, we haven't been in America for ages, either, and become blind to its faults and whatnot. My goodness people, I'm totally disgusted by the complete lack of any patriotism whatsoever.

not patriotic.. im sorry im in the U.S.Army Deployed in Afghanistan this is my FORTH DEPLOYEMENT in 4yrs i have only seen my family for 1 christmas 1 new years in that time.
