Today, my fiancé told me his ex-wife was 5 weeks pregnant. I was happy for her, and glad she had finally moved on. Until I found out who the father was. They're moving back in together, for the baby's sake. FML

People fail to realize that 99% of the time, getting back together for the kids is a total failure. Either you'll split up again anyway or you'll both be miserable and the kids will grow up in a household full of yelling and parents who hate each other. In a house full of bad emotions, those will rub off on the kids and they'll be miserable. And another thing. I know OP was with her fiancé for a long time before this, but so what if it had been only 5 weeks? As long as the wedding was planned for further down the road, why does it matter when someone gets engaged? If they get married before they've been together a year then of course that /can/ be bad, but if they're not getting married anytime soon, there's nothing wrong with it. My fiancé and I got engaged 7 weeks after we met and we're still together and happy 3 years later. Sometimes you just know.
