Today, my friend spotted for me while I was lifting a barbell. He thought it would be hilarious to tickle my armpits as I lifted it all the way up. I can still taste vomit in my mouth and it hurts to breathe. FML

Yes, because the absolute FIRST thought I have when I see a friend is "Oh golly, how can I injure them today?"

What the **** made him think doing that was a good idea?

dude, he can easily be banned from the gym for that crap so tell them. He should not be trusted in there after that

Anyone who has ever lifted before knows that you can get seriously injured when lifting... Sorry about the pain OP!! Hopefully your friend helps you recover and learns how to actually work out

Ouch. Be careful who you call your friends, OP. Hope you feel better soon /:

Well hopefully he learned the gym isn't a playground. Sorry it was at your expense, OP.

I actually wouldn't have that guy as a friend anymore. Does he not realize he could have killed you?

Oh friends what would we do without them

I don't think your friend intentionally made an attempt to injure you. Instead he didn't take into consideration the possibility of you becoming severely injured, even as irresponsible as that is, considering you both know proper lifting etiquette. It's not like he attempted murder in the first degree so don't be too hard on the guy.

Nope, be hard on him. That was stupid and could have caused serious injury. He had one job, and did the worst he could at it.

I would have straight up punched him in the mouth for doing that. Spotters are responsible for making sure you don't get injured, its not the time to screw around

This is why I have a personal trainer, and ALMOST have trouble trustung her when we do really heavy; especially on the incline legpress, when she tells me to go deeper... I'm honestly afraid of getting crushed (because we were doing almost 400 kilos one time and I needed like 5 dudes help to get it back up after going too low), even though I know it's not possible.
