Today, my girlfriend heard a great quote about not letting anyone drag her down. She took it to mean, "break up with your boyfriend." FML

GoldCyclone tells us more.

To clear things up, I have been in love with her for 3 years, and we've been dating for 2 and a half. She's always seemed happy, and said that she wouldn't date someone she didn't have feelings for, which is why this came as such a shock to me.

Well are you dragging her down ?

Seems like things weren't happy in paradise. Are you sure you didn't bring her down even a little? Or maybe she's just crazy.

I don't know you so I can't say if she is right or not but maybe you can take a page from her book and try to better yourself

There isn't much we can say here. Maybe she was overreacting and acted unfair to you. Maybe you were dragging her down and is too in denial to admit. All I can say is that every villain considers himself a hero, so try to think what you could be doing to make her think like this.

Try building her up not dragging her down...

Maybe she felt like you were dragging her down? You should talk to her

means you were dragging her down, you little shit

Ouch. She's a mean bitch anyway and you're better off without her.

What a mean bitch for breaking up with someone she doesn't want to be with and who might be dragging her down! The nerve of some people!

She's probably been feeling that way for a while and has finally found a way to verbalise it. While it sounds rather unfair of her, reacting like she's stupid and irrational to have that perspective kinda reinforces her point.
