Today, my girlfriend thought it'd be funny to change my ringtone to some guy crooning "Thank heaven for little girls" and then call me during today's teacher-parent conference. FML

Well that sounds very immature and that may cost you your job... I'd have a serious chat with her.

well. seems like your girlfriend has no ******* clue how bad this makes you look. seriously, how did she not know the implications of this?

YDI for not having your phone on silent in a meeting. Besides it's just a tune - who really cares?

Very few times you read an FML where the girl, not the guy, pulls off an awesome prank on her SO. It was awesome on all accounts.

No one should be doing any kind of pranks. They are very unfunny and never done right.

Yes, so awesome that it can completely ruin his reputation and career. "Pranks" can be funny without having such serious consequences.

Would you consider it an 'awesome prank' if I accused my SO of rape and watched his reputation get destroyed while he possibly serves jail time? No, of course not. That would be horrible. Yet this prank has potentially similar consequences, and you think it's funny?

#51 really? That's a bit of a stretch don't ya think?

Well to be honest you shouldn't have had your phone on during the conference anyway. But that still doesn't excuse your girlfriend from potentially costing you your job. This is a mixture of YDI and FYL.

That is awful, out of interest are you a teacher or a parent in this context?

how do we know he's the teacher? it doesn't specify

Since the FML is in the "work" category, I'm gonna assume that he is indeed the teacher.

That's was really ungrateful of her to do that. Why would she want to try to ruin your reputation like that?

That's why you leave phones on silent or vibrate when you're doing important things.

It's a song from the movie/stage show, Gigi. It's an old man singing about how great it is to watch young people grow.

My all girls school used to play it every year at the daddy daughter luncheon.

why was your phone not on silent during that?

Never never never never never never never never never never never never never leave your phone where your friends can get at it. When is it OK to leave your phone where your friends can get at it? Never never never never never never never never never never never never never.

Girlfriend, not friend. They probably didn't expect their girlfriend to do something like that.

Reading comprehension #25. You should probably get some. It was OP's girlfriend, not a co-worker.
