Today, my grandfather was counting all the grandchildren he had and saying how fortunate he was to have all of us. When I pointed out that he'd forgotten to count me, he turned and said "You're adopted, you don't count as a real grandchild" FML

Today, I was on the phone with my boyfriend. We were messing around and I always jokingly say, "You're adopted, nobody loves you!" to everybody. His reply, "That's pretty fucked up, I am adopted." He really was. FML

Today, my dad justified leaving two of my three kids out of his will because they’re adopted and so not really his proper grandchildren, telling me I can’t seriously expect him to just give his money to people who aren’t real family members. FML

Today, I found out that the man I called grandpa for 40 years is really my dad. My drunk aunt spilled the beans. Her exact words were, "My dad is a better dad to you than he EVER was to me! You never wondered why he treated you better than his other grandchildren? You're his son!" FML

same thing happened to my mom once, except it was her brother. at a wedding he told her he'd never really thought of her as a sister because she was adopted. ouch.

When did I ever claim that only a single country sees FML. Also, it is a bit hypocritical to blast a person for having an opinion about someone else. Now two people could have been hurt while you were trying to protect one person. Maybe the OP is a crappy kid and the whole family regrets having adopted her.
