People respect their elders usually
the thing is, old people don't care about other people's emotions about them usually. so they can be as loud and insistent as they want. and at least you got them to turn it off.

That's because the younger generation is full of punks and pushovers. The older generations actually had to go through some serious shit and actually had to work and do shit without the help of everything/everyone. Give him a high five for me ;)

In my personal experience grandfathers tend to be rather intimidating so I'm not surprised. Be glad you're grandfather stood up for you.
Atleast they know how to respect elders. Plus in my opinion older people are always more intimadating. They got that look
