Your whole body is covered in microbial ecosystems, actually! There are about a thousand to ten thousand bacteria per square centimeter of your body surface, except for your armpits and groin, where there are about a million per square centimeter. Those millions of bacteria in your ****** are good and healthy and are supposed to be there, in certain proportions. These good bacteria protect you because other, bad bacteria that could infect you down there would have to compete with them for resources (e.g. the tasty chemicals in your vaginal mucosa that they use for food) in order to "get a leg in" to the ecosystem. When conditions (such as pH) aren't right there, living conditions become less ideal for the good bacteria, and it's easier for the bad bacteria to grow. "Reconstructing" the ecosystem means fixing the conditions so that the right bacteria grow back in the right quantities.

We should launch an expedition... Take some samples, examine the native fauna, map the terrain. If we like the area we might be able to open your ****** for settlement.
