Today, my husband and I were talking about names for our expectant child. I told him since I named our daughter he could name our son. He's decided on a name from 'God of War'. My son is going to be named after a make-believe cartoon character - Kratos. FML

I'm taking classes to learn to be a preschool teacher and they've taught us that when you know the child is going to make a poor choice, give him/her "structured choices". You should've come up with 5 or so names and let him pick from those! Otherwise, "What do you want to wear to school?" turns into "I WANT TO BE NAKED!!!!" and "What should we name our first born son?" turns into "KRATOS!!".

Whats so wrong with Kratos? It means strength in greek. Its also not that bad. it also stems from greek mythology... people DO name their sons Jesus, but i dont see FMLs about that.

There are worse names than Kratos. Kratos has actual meaning in Greek. Its just not the most common name.

and all i can think is silly woman doesnt know the diff between a videogame and a cartoon. Comments like #32 are pretty out of touch with reality, the average age of most video gamers is closer to 32 than 12
