A drunk man's words are a sober man's truths. I think he meant the timing was unexpected, not that he didn't want to marry you. I mean, he sobered up at sometime and realized what he did and he's still with you 3 years later.

So what if he asked you when he was drunk, you still said yes. He could've easily woke up the next morning and been like "sorry babae had a bit to drink didn't mean it" Its not like he was drunk for the entire duration of your engagement and couldn't have called it off at any time.

And you didn't... check, at the time? Like, once he was sober, you didn't sort of revisit the question and make sure it wasn't a drunk/in the heat of the moment kind of proposal? Did you not know he was drunk? If you did, why would you accept a drunk proposal? Or a sports-win-fuelled proposal? That's just a major set-up for failure. That said, if you're still together, it must have worked out okay! Congrats on your baby!
