Today, my mom and my step dad decided they're getting a divorce. They've been married for 2 weeks and I paid for a quarter of the wedding. FML

...Why would you do that? They obviously only did it for the gifts.

Wow. That was very stupid of you, no offense...

Pretty sure there are lawyers out there who'd love to jump on this. I'd look into getting your money back, if I were you.

That really really sucks for you. Sorry dude D:

aw :( well they couldnt have been so sure about it if it lasted only 2 weeks..... sucks that they used your money.

Just make them pay you back. That's it.

If you didnt do it as a gift make them pay you back its ridiculous for them to expect that from you

That's absolutely disgusting. People like this are what undermine the marriage industry. And they say young people get divorced young. I see far more instances like this with older people.

I was thinking the exact same thing! this woman obviously doesn't take marriage seriously if she keeps playing around with it. marriage is a huge step... maybe she should get to know a person before marrying them... :/

My buddy just got married today. People rush marriage and wonder why it fails. Known the chick for 1 month in real life and 8 months long distance. They've never seen each other longer than a week at each meeting. They've also never lived with each other. I wonder how far it will go. Well it may work out just find.

I'm not getting why you did this in the first place. Agreeing with #10, they're adults. And statistically speaking #18, people who cohabitate before marriage are more likely to divorce. And #17, also statistically speaking, each consecutive marriage has a higher likelyhood of ending in divorce than the last.
