Today, my wedding is scheduled for next week. Today is also the day my whole family had an epic falling out, resulting in my mother disowning my brother. Apart from having them taking turns sobbing at me through the phone, they're also not coming to the wedding. I paid the hotel rooms in advance. FML

That is messed up. And, I know this doesn't matter since OBVIOUSLY they don't care about etiquette at all.... but gifts should be returned. And two weeks *may* just call for an annulment, it is such a short period of time. I'd check local law, since they have changed in the last few years. Either way, that sucks.

#22 & #45 : I'm glad you both think marriage is this spectacular thing, but as far as the business of marriage in America, as long as the state is involved, it's not about religion or love.
