Today, my mom told me to follow her car closely to my aunt's house. I kept really close to her which caused me to get pulled over for tailgating. I explained everything to the cop so he went over to my mom to see if that was the truth. My mom said she didn't know me. I got a ticket. Thanks mom. FML

Today, I was on the way to traffic court for a $340 speeding ticket I'd got. My mother called me and I wasn't paying attention which caused me to speed. Right past a cop. When I told the cop where I was going, he started laughing at me. I now have another $300 ticket. FML

Today, I was riding in the backseat while my mom was driving. Noticing she was driving way over the speed limit, I opened a police siren app on my iPod to make her slow down. When she realized, she pulled over, kicked me out of the car and made me walk home. FML

Today, I was driving home from work when I saw a cop come up behind me. Nervous about my expired license, I kept checking in my rear view mirror. In turn since I wasn't paying attention, I ran a stop sign. Needless to say the cop pulled me over and gave me 2 tickets. FML

So wait... the cop pulled YOU over, and your mom pulled over as well and sat there waiting for the cop to finish talking to you even though SHE wasn't in trouble, and then claimed to not know you even though he presumably explained the situation to her? Doesn't make much sense to me...

that is awful!!! I can't believe your mother would do that to you, that is one of the bitchiest moves ever. I def think she should pay your ticket or talk to the police and get it completely gone. That is bull sh**.

FYL because that's a bitchy move on your mom's part (and like #6 said, why would she pull over when you got pulled over if she didn't know you??), but YDI because even if you're following someone, you don't have to tailgate. Following closely doesn't mean tailgating, it means getting close enough that someone can't pull in between you. A good thing to do is for both you and your mother to turn your emergency lights on as you're driving. Most people get the idea then.

That is just a lie. Why would someone who didn't know the car tailgating them stop with them? And even then, if they did. Why wait and he would have asked for a license from both of them.
