My mom wouldn't speak to me for a month when I got mine. My dad had to convince her not to kick me out. My brother got one too but they expected that from him so he didn't get in as much trouble.

I'm personally against tattoos but a hot spatula is an insane way to deal with it. Most parents just argue or sulk for a few days. I hope your mom calms down & realizes that was a horrible thing to do.
