Today, my mother called me downstairs to give me what I assumed was going to be "The Talk" (About four years too late). So she sits me down, holds my hands, and with the gentlest, most motherly expression on her face tells me, "Honey, if you ever come home pregnant, I'll kill you and the baby." FML

Wow O_o I can't believe how much of a response this thing is getting(first post ever...) But for clarification:(Skip if you want...Blah) a) Since my mother was willing to beat me with a metal end of a broom for claiming Hitler and the events of the holocaust were wrong and has a machete at the ready underneath her bed, the threat was/is to be taken seriously, wouldn't you think... (Is she still hilarious?) b) Kill me, sure, but THE KID??? c)I would've loved for my mother to have been concerned/open enough with me to have an actual conversation about sex... Blegh -_-

#12: I disagree with you on two things: 1) Adoptions aren't all bad. My cousin is adopted and she's perfectly fine. 2) Abortion is never an option. It's an evil, selfish thing to do. You may as well go stab your kid through the face multiple times with a steak knife, you'd achieve the same effect.

Abortion is NEVER an option? Really? Even in cases of rape and incest? It's true that those do not make up all abortions, but what you're saying is that you'd rather a child be born to a mother who can't stand the sight of it because it reminds her of being raped by her father than stop the development of a bunch of cells without anything resembling consciousness. And even without the mother, what about the kid? If born of incest, there's a high likelihood of recessive diseases, and I have to say that if I found I was born because of that situation, I would probably end up killing myself. You sound like the Pope, who threatened to excommunicate a girl's entire family if she had an abortion. Why did she want it? Because she was nine years old and had been raped by her step-father. If you don't believe me, go look it up.

#232: why not adoption? you don't have to keep the baby if you are raped, but you also don't have to kill it. there are tons of people who want a baby and can't have one that would be tickled pink to raise that child. why kill it?

Abortion isn't killing anything. Its killing a parasite. That's just one less abused and unwanted kid in the world.

would if your mom killed you, you sound like a parasite. abortion is just as bad as murdering someone, you're taking away that child's life and right to live. if the mother doesn't want the kid, then put them up for adoption. there are many loving families who would love to adopt an unwanted child.
