Today, my mother called me downstairs to give me what I assumed was going to be "The Talk" (About four years too late). So she sits me down, holds my hands, and with the gentlest, most motherly expression on her face tells me, "Honey, if you ever come home pregnant, I'll kill you and the baby." FML

Litterbox tells us more.

Wow O_o I can't believe how much of a response this thing is getting(first post ever...) But for clarification:(Skip if you want...Blah) a) Since my mother was willing to beat me with a metal end of a broom for claiming Hitler and the events of the holocaust were wrong and has a machete at the ready underneath her bed, the threat was/is to be taken seriously, wouldn't you think... (Is she still hilarious?) b) Kill me, sure, but THE KID??? c)I would've loved for my mother to have been concerned/open enough with me to have an actual conversation about sex... Blegh -_-

#7, #12, give me a break. "Death is a sweeter end than giving the kid up for adoption"? Cram it. My stepmother is adopted, along with two good friends of mine. They're all smart, well-adjusted people that dealt with their adoption maturely. Not everyone struggles with adoption. Further, I was born to a mother that couldn't support me. I bounced between houses - my grandmother, my aunt, my father. Guess what? I'm fine. I just got accepted into an excellent university and will be attending this coming fall. Is life without challenges? No. Do I have to deal with it? Yes. But where do you get off deciding whose life is worth living and whose isn't? Further, what did the OP state that made you think she was living in poverty and wouldn't be able to support a kid? She's talking to her mother, yes, but she could be home visiting. We don't know her age or her lifestyle. I support abortion on a case-by-case basis, before any of you ask. I can understand where a child just can't thrive at all in certain environments. I get that. An unplanned pregnancy is no good news, I know, but that doesn't mean your wide generalizations about "all mothers bringing an unplanned kid into the world deserve to die" or "death is better than adoption" are even half thought-out or remotely justified. If that dimwitted logic was somehow enforced, I wonder how many useful, brilliant minds would be lost. At least pretend to know something before you post.

that sounds like my mother, hahaha. We seem to be in the same boat.

#21: Once again, they all should have gotten the abortion.

oh yeh because she has NEVER been pregnant if my mum said something like that to me she would definatly regret it i would not put up with that disgusting treatment

Also, #21, another point: I never said ANYTHING about unplanned pregnancy. I said any woman who brings a child into the world who cannot SUPPORT THEMSELVES AND THE CHILD deserve to die. If you can pay for the kid, then go ahead, you're free to reproduce. Just don't **** up both your lives by being financially unstable. hahahahahahahahaha. this is so freakin funny

It's 21st century for god's sake ! Your mother should have given you advices for birth control !
