Today, my mother called me downstairs to give me what I assumed was going to be "The Talk" (About four years too late). So she sits me down, holds my hands, and with the gentlest, most motherly expression on her face tells me, "Honey, if you ever come home pregnant, I'll kill you and the baby." FML

Wow O_o I can't believe how much of a response this thing is getting(first post ever...) But for clarification:(Skip if you want...Blah) a) Since my mother was willing to beat me with a metal end of a broom for claiming Hitler and the events of the holocaust were wrong and has a machete at the ready underneath her bed, the threat was/is to be taken seriously, wouldn't you think... (Is she still hilarious?) b) Kill me, sure, but THE KID??? c)I would've loved for my mother to have been concerned/open enough with me to have an actual conversation about sex... Blegh -_-

How is this a FML? Unless you're pregnant I don't see the problem here. It really isn't hard to not get pregnant; don't have sex. It seems you're pretty young, probably a teenager, living with your mother and her controlling you, so just don't have sex yet.... The quality of the FMLs lately has been really decreasing.

Sounds like you might want to start carrying a knife - or else don't come home when you get pregnant. Onigiriqueen, saying that being adopted is somehow second-rate is insulting to every adopted child and every adoptive parent. I know people who have adopted kids, and they love them like their own. Not all families do that, unfortunately, but a bad parent is a bad parent no matter whether their kids are biological or not. After all, my MIL decided to keep her first child (my husband) and thinks she's an awesome person for that. But then she let him be sexually abused for several years because she was happy to have anybody take him off her hands, and when he was older she physically abused him and his younger brothers. His life really couldn't have gotten much worse. He would have been better off adopted. On the other hand, his stepfather never tried to hurt him in any way, and I think cares more, in his own way, about my husband's well-being than his mother does. Once more, a bad parent is a bad parent. It makes no difference if their kids are biological or not.

at #44 so is the quality of the comments people are leaving. I think slowly the You-Tube crowed is coming over to barf out their nonsense and start Internet Fights. But to be honest I liked this FML, it made me laugh out loud.
