Today, my mother called me downstairs to give me what I assumed was going to be "The Talk" (About four years too late). So she sits me down, holds my hands, and with the gentlest, most motherly expression on her face tells me, "Honey, if you ever come home pregnant, I'll kill you and the baby." FML

Wow O_o I can't believe how much of a response this thing is getting(first post ever...) But for clarification:(Skip if you want...Blah) a) Since my mother was willing to beat me with a metal end of a broom for claiming Hitler and the events of the holocaust were wrong and has a machete at the ready underneath her bed, the threat was/is to be taken seriously, wouldn't you think... (Is she still hilarious?) b) Kill me, sure, but THE KID??? c)I would've loved for my mother to have been concerned/open enough with me to have an actual conversation about sex... Blegh -_-

#7, #12, (and possibly a few others) Your parents should have gotten abortions. Also, #12, just because you were adopted and think poorly of it does not mean all people (or even a slight majority) who were adopted feel the same way. OP, I think your mother is a horrible person. Death threats are never a smart idea, even if they carry conditions.

Thank God you aren't in charge of the country. I know more than one girl who got pregnant unexpectedly and had no help from the father and their kids are doing well. The first couple years were rough but the Mom made it work. Besides young girl doesn't always = poor and married couple doesn't = stable. You're just wrong, is all.

wow. #12 not all adoptions are bad. I am adopted and aam living a much better life. sorry your life didnt work out, dont stereotype though based on your experiences. many other people than yourself were adopted.

move out of your parents house and into your own, and get pregnent. because then you wont be going home to yours and your parents house, but you will be going home to your own home. so therefore she cant kill you and your baby :D or just dont get pregnent

Tough love sucks, but she's right. If you get pregnant, get an abortion. Don't tell her until way after.

no one deserves to die for having sex. Its not like she is out there trying to get prgnant. some of you people deserve it more than the OP. if it was up to you, quite a few of your parents wouldnt be alive cause "the family life was so poor" just think about that.
