Today, my mother said she trusted me enough to go with me for my first drive in my new car. As soon as we got in the car, she started hyperventilating and screaming we're going to crash. I didn't even start the engine. FML

Exactly, and I wonder if your mom freaks out on busy/unfamiliar streets when SHE is the one driving? My mom does. She'll literally cry and hyperventilate. It's more of a FHL than FYL.

haha. im 18 and have had my license since my 16th birthday. my parents STILL do that when they ride with me. and my friends mom stops and freaks out when leaves blow across the road...

Imagine that traffic stop. Please ignore my mother I know shes trashed and teaching me but there was really no other way. I know how he feels though. The only time my mother will get in the vehicle with me is when she has had pain meds that make her loopy. Ive been driving for 5 years and never had a accident.

That's why I'm 18 and still don't have my license. My dad was like that and I couldn't drive with him. I finally moved out and am driving with my fiance. Going to get my license in a month, cause you apparently have to be 19 to get it in virginia unless you take drivers ed (which i can't afford) *****Driving with my dad!***** I turn onto a road with a 45mph speed limit. I had previously been stopped, so my speed is about 20 "ERIN SLOW DOWN!" "I'm only going 20 and the speed limits 45." "YOU'RE GOING TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT IF YOU DO'NT SLOW DOWN!" "I"m going to cause and accident if I don't speed up!" "ERIN YOU MAKE ME NERVOUS!" (I ignore him, finally reach 40 mph and decide that's close enough to 45.) "SLOW DOWN THERE'S A STOP SIGN COMING UP!" "That's not for another mile and a half." "BUT YOU CAN'T WAIT UNTIL YOU'RE *AT* THE STOP SIGN TO SLOW DOWN." "If I start slowing down from here I'll be at a dead stop way before then." "PULL THE CAR OVER! I'M DRIVING! YOU MAKE ME NERVOUS!"

XD Oh wow...and I thought having my driving 'instructor' screaming at me in Spanish was bad. I'm 21 and STILL have no license. The last time I had a decent chance behind the wheel was when I was 16.

Haha. I love how I totally posted that under the wrong username. (Note to self-always check to see if your friends are logged in to FML on your computer before posting. lol) Anyways, yeah it was horrible. Whatever though. Yeah. I drove with my mom before that and drove fine, but her car broke, so I couldn't drive in that one either.

wow..you should have sped up really fast that wouldve taught him a lesson but then again the next time you were in a car with him you would be taking him to the hospital or therapist
