Today, my mum deleted my college research assignment on rape because the subject was too vulgar. I had worked on it for the past month and it was worth 50% of my grade. It's due tomorrow. FML

That is terrible! I actually think it is great that you wrote your paper on that. It is something that affects people. Believe me. I know.

Your mom must be those strong religious people that believe rape and murder never occurs. Tell her to get out of her shell.

thank god my mom is computer literate and doesnt go through my hw, then again, i purposely keep it messy so she wouldnt want to :)

check the folder on your computer where all the deleted stuff goes and then restore it.

Just check your recycle bin, I doubt your mother emptied out the recycle bin as well.

Why do you still live at home while attending college? You're an adult now (presumably), it's time to move out. YDI.

1. Your mom shouldn't have done that. >.> 2. Rape IS a sensitive topic, but nonetheless important to know about. 3. Check the recycle bin. It should still be be there. =) 4. Change your computer password/login. Why does your mom even have access to your computer anyways? And if you use the same computer, make a separate account on Administrator Level so that other accounts can't interfere with it.

um..LOTS of people live at home for awhile while still in college. Attending school usually means not being able to have a full time job and make enough money to live on their own comfortably. A lot of people either live in dorms (which they can get loans for and not have to pay back until later on when they are making more money) or they continue to live with their parents if they are within driving distance of their college to save money.

dont download anything... it may save it up where your deleted data is.... just ask your friend to burn you a cd with recovery program... but even installing it on your computer can make your file damage... so take your hard drive out and use it as a slave hard drive and install the recovey origram in other computer or hard drive and conect yur hard drive here.... sorry for my english, grammar, nonsense, existance here.... I tried for dirst time ecstasy... will never take again, I swear... I stay at Marijuana alternatives.... life sycjs

Dude, none of that is true. You can install and delete. Unless your disk is 99.99% full where installing (or downloading) would over-write the deleted data, it's not gonna interfere with anything. It'll write on the blank date (0's) before it writes over previously deleted data.

Seconded. I've used Recuva before, and it's a pretty decent piece of software, for a freeware download. The sooner you run it, the better your chances of being able to salvage your paper are. If that area of the hard drive gets overwritten with something else, you probably won't be able to recover it, so I'd give it a shot asap and see what you can come up with.

Oh my ******* god!!!! that's horrible!! how could she do something like that? i mean, isn't she supposed to want you to have good grades? i would explode of rage if that happens to me! FYL. Btw if your mom is like mine it should be in the recycle bin, if it's not there download Recuva, it's a program that lets you recover everything that was deleted in your computer. If that dosn't work try talking to your teacher and make him/she talk to your mom so she can explain that it's her fault, and maybe like that he/she would let you do it again.

That's pretty bad. FYL. But what are you doing on FML when the paper is due tomorrow?

http://lifehacker.com/393084/how-to-recover-deleted-files-with-free-software It's not an FML just yet, try reading this, you may just be able to recover it. Good luck!
