Having been dealing with mental illness since high school (almost 20 years now), I understand where you're coming from. Although in my case is was my dad, not my mom. I still struggle daily, although proper med management with a psychiatrist I trust as well as weekly therapy sessions with a psychologist has helped immensely. My father still doesn't understand, and constantly asks me why I can't just deal with it. But I'm starting to understand that his comments are coming from his own insecurities and lack of understanding. Having a proper diagnosis is the first step in regaining independence, and I wish you all the best from the bottom of my heart. Good luck, the road is long and arduous, but you can, and will, persevere.

Show her to a doctor, it sounds like she has a case of being an idiot.
Awesome!! Now we know for certain all those other schizofrenics are lying assholes! Except they're not. Your mom is.
