When was the carpet installed? Was it before he arrived? Before you arrived? Between? There are actually a few possible different scenarios that don't involve looking through windows. Or maybe he's telling you to keep your curtains closed. Who knows. Unless he says "I look through your bedroom window" then don't assume.
