Holy shit I realize this story is 7-8 years old but around that same time my Dad said the exact same thing to me. After years of him wanting me to go to college, he suddenly laid into me one day about "paying thousands to become a ******* bleeding heart liberal". And it was so confusing and sudden, but coupled with his FOX news addiction and the time period this makes sense. :o

We learned in basic government class and ap gov that higher educated people tend to lean more liberal while business owners tend to lean more Republican.
