Today, my puppy went missing. I found him, unconscious but thankfully alive, in a taped-up box with no holes. My little brother eventually confessed to doing it because he wanted to sell my puppy on eBay. FML

Today, my boyfriend apparently lied to me when he'd said we could get a dog one day. I bought a puppy for him in secret but as soon as he saw it he was all, "What the hell is that? We’re not keeping it." It’s now with his parents, as he didn’t want it overnight or even in the house. FML

Today, after I went to live with my biological mom, after she convinced me she’s been off drugs while I was living with my grandparents, she gave me one of two puppies she'd bought as a gift. Then she got arrested. Turns out she stole said puppy. Some things never change. FML

If your brother understands how eBay works then he should know right from wrong. I hope your puppy is okay with no side effects from oxygen depravation. Maybe mention this incident to your parents, hopefully they'll get your brother help because if he doesn't show empathy or understand that the dog could have died them he needs psychiatric help. They're early warning signs of sociopathy, or psychopathy. Either way I hope your puppy gets better good luck OP

Please please please talk to your parents and urge them to get him psychiatric help. To echo what a few others said, this can be an early sign of sociopathy or psychopathy. Do some research on both and present your findings to your parents. Have them do their own research. Whatever it takes to get him help.

I think that even if the brother is around 7, he should know better. It sounds like he has some real psychological issues that need to be addressed. I really hope your puppy is okay and that you give us an update saying so!
