Today, my roommates told me they want me to move out of our apartment. We would have never gotten the apartment without my credit score, and most of the furniture is mine. FML

Take all the furniture with you. If it's yours than there's nothing they can do. After that they'll regret asking you to move out.

get off the lease and take your stuff. they'll be screwed and probably out of an apartment

#38 you are correct OP needs to talk to the apartment manger/owner about breaking the lease and at what cost. When that’s arranged move the furniture when they are out. What a smile will come to your face when you think back to what their faces looked like coming back to empty space. LOL

I really want a follow-up for this FML. The roommates are screwing themselves over by asking him/her to leave. I just want to know whether OP kicked them out instead and kept living there or left with all the furniture and got them kicked out afterwards since it was because of OP's credit score they were living there to begin with.

They want me to move out, I am not necessarily kicked out... Yet. The lease doesn't end until April and we are all on it. Their credit has gone up since we moved in (we are college students, they had zero before), so that doesn't protect me because they can reapply and qualify now. The only problem is only with one of the roommates. The other just wants to stay with the apartment and doesn't care who else stays. If I leave I am taking my furniture. Its just a hassle to move (upper floor, no elevator, narrow stairs).

You can always compete with them to keep it for a new lease (just have to get roommates to cover their end). They do not get to keep the apartment just because they say so.

So...how could they "kick you out" if they wanted to? I don't see any way they could.

So they are technically unable to kick you out because your name is also on the lease. If you still like the place and want to live there, maybe you could talk with the other roommate and agree to go to the landlord and make up a deal to renew the lease with just yours and the one other roommates names on the lease. That way the other guy has to leave?

call the police and say they broke in and made your home theirs.

That's called Filing a False Report and is punishable by law. Don't lie.

Take your furniture and take your name of the lease or rental agreement.

It's your credit, so your place. Kick them out. Find better roommates.

Then tell them to **** OFF, remind them of this, and then proceed to shoved their high-horse asses OUTTA THAT DOOR!

Well first off if it's your credit then it's in your name and they'll have to submit their own credit scores which apparently won't be good enough. You might want to contact your land lord.

if the apartment is in your name you can kick them out and keep the furniture!
