don't let your cats outside. i don't care what everyone here is saying, outside cats have shorter life spans, are exposed to more diseases, decimate local small wildlife populations, and are generally less friendly and not as good pets as indoor cats. if you don't want to keep your pet indoors, or outdoors under supervision only, then don't get one.
Definition of spontaneously- Arising from a natural inclination or impulse and not from external incitement or constraint. Thus it just means that she was not planning on purchasing the cat and just did it on a whim (A sudden or capricious idea; a fancy.) Duh. It is sad that I had to spell that out for you.
As everyone else said, kind of asking for it by having it as an outdoor cat. There's already enough outdoor cats; claim one of them as yours. Don't adopt one, then boot it out. It isn't fair to do to a dog so why is it for a cat? I mean, no one deserves it but you /were/ being irresponsible enough for it to happen.
Outdoor vs. indoor, kitten vs. cat, dead, alive, adopted vs. purchased, blah-dee-blah-blah-blah. I think the most troubling thing about this FML was that the OP thought this was some treat for her sister (surprise, I got a cat, let's crack open the balloons and the asti spumante) - and that she had taken some big leap into spontaneity with this acquisition. Is the OP playing Juliette Lewis' role in some real-life reenactment of "The Other Sister" here? Because, I've got to tell ya, I don't get a tingle up my leg when family members buy pets...
Agree with gothic cat lady.
This was halarious!!
Keep all Goddamn CATS in the house. Jesus Christ on a Cracker..... You deserved it.
How would you like it if you were never allowed to go outside, and every time you did, you get told to get away from there, and are then picked up/hit.

I agree with #1. But your sister is a bitch for not watching where she drives.
most ppl keep their NEW KITTENS inside, or at least not at the road.. It sucks, but some really bad decisions on your part :(
