Today, my sister came over for a visit. I was going to surprise her with the news that I had spontaneously gotten a cat. The first thing she told me when she came in was that she ran over my neighbor's cat. None of my neighbors have cats. FML

Today, I woke up to a cat licking my face. I don't have a cat. I quickly put the cat out the front door and went back to sleep. When I woke up later, I remembered that I had agreed to take care of my sister's cat for a week. I looked out the door, but the cat is nowhere to be found. FML

Today, my 20-year-old sister is taking care of my cat while I am out of state. She sent a photo of him "playing in a silly way" with her kitty. I then had to very seriously explain to her that in the photo, my cat and her cat were trying to make more cats. FML

Today, I was over at a friend's house feeding her cats while she was on vacation. After feeding the four of them, I found an extra cat under the sofa. Thinking it was an intruding stray, I kicked it out. She actually has 5 cats. FML

Today, my family came back from holiday to discover that my little sister had messed with the cat flap before we left. Several stray cats were able to come in, but were unable to get out, and left shit in various areas around the house. FML

Today, while I was driving around the neighborhood, I passed my neighbors' house only to see their dog with a full-grown dead cat in its mouth. Only one family owns a cat in our neighborhood. FML

Today, I stayed the night at a friend's house for the first time. I went to get water from the kitchen when I saw a cat staring at me. I looked back and it ran off. I told my friend about it. He doesn’t have a cat. FML

First thing to do is look for your cat, duhh. Then you ask sis what the cat she hit looks like. Maybe it was a cat from the next block. Maybe one of your neighbors 'spontaneously' got a cat. SOoooo many possibilities.

That story made me want to cry. I would be totally devastated if either of my cats were ever to be killed like that. If you get another cat, try to make it an indoor cat, not just because of the car issue, but also because of feline leukemia. I don't know EXACTLY what it is, but you can just wikipedia it, i'm sure. All I know is that when my family adopted our cats, we had to sign a contract saying that we would keep them indoors because of how common and serious feline leukemia is. Also, your sister is a horrible driver, and I would want to punch her in the face and total her car if I were you. Seems fair to me, the car killed the cat, so you kill the car. :)

Cats belong inside the house. There are too many things that can happen to an outdoor cat, so contrary to what people say, I would have to assert that it is cruel to have an outdoor cat. Outdoor cats have about half the life expectancy of indoor cats.
