Today, my sixteen year old son told me that he's following his guidance counselor's advice: to do what his hero does for a living. The problem? His hero is SpongeBob Squarepants. His ambition in life is to become a fry cook. FML

Maybe he wants to be a chef. No harm in that...

Your kid needs to grow up. I'm 13 years old and I'm more mature than him.

You know what be proud of him for having that dream. Chances are its just a phase and he may outgrow this. Get him hooked on the food network channel. He will soon get ideas and change his plans on life, maybe. Culinary arts school. On the other hand it is sad that his hero is spongebob. Oh and the therapist hes seeing? Get a new one and quick. They dont know what the hell they re doing or saying

hell yeah!!!!!!! spongebob is awesome!!!

time to use some strict love on the kid and beat some sense into him. it's for his own good.

At least he has a dream to do SOMETHING, which is more than most sixteen year olds have. Most of them just want to spend mommy and daddy's money.

haha that's SO funny! and I love spongebob squarepants!(:

Spongebob sucks. I remember when we had awesome cartoons. Rugrats, Rocko's Modern Life, The Angry Beavers, Daria, Johnny Bravo and Hey Arnold.
