Today, my social-awkwardness is so bad, I was actually proud of myself for managing to ask someone a question. FML

I'm just like that. But be proud! It's baby steps, and before you know it you'll be able to do anything :) I, unfortunately, am not able to ask a stranger a question yet. But once again, baby steps! Good luck :)

Asking them if they would mind not standing on your feet doesn't constitute a question. But seriously, build on that pride and go strike up a conversation with a random person. It will do you the world of good... and if you make a fool of yourself, well then you will never see them again.

I don't wish social awkwardness on anyone, but it feels good to know others are like me - I have to go to the store now, and it's not as hard knowing that others will feel like I do~ Oddly, I used to be pretty self confidant . . . OP you should be proud. Keep up the good work, you are inspiring

Social awkwardness is hard to overcome, but at least you're trying! Be proud of your accomplishments.

I have a problem socializing too. but not like yours though. but i know how you feel.

I suffer with the same sort of problems too so I say be proud of yourself, and just keep edging away at that social awkwardness one step at a time =)
