Today, my social-awkwardness is so bad, I was actually proud of myself for managing to ask someone a question. FML

I'm just like that. But be proud! It's baby steps, and before you know it you'll be able to do anything :) I, unfortunately, am not able to ask a stranger a question yet. But once again, baby steps! Good luck :)

I find confidence in thinking that most people feel just as akward as I do...So, joke 'em if they can't take a f**k!

Don't worry I'm not a talker either.. I get happy when I ask people things too .

Hey congrats! I have the same problem. I'd never be able to ask someone a question so I feel pretty proud of you! :D

OP is probably Homeschooled... I feel your pain

what does homeschool have to do with social anxiety? it's not like not going to a regular school will make you any more social, in fact there are many kids at mine who don't even talk.

I believe that in this case an old saying rings true; ain't notin' to it but to do it.

wow all these loser quiet kids must've grown some balls and are now all commenting. learn to talk to people you *******.

You should be careful who you call a "loser quite kid" you'll probably be working for one

wise up you have no idea what it's like ! so don't be so bloody rude !

Yep, I was one of those "loser quiet kids". I am currently a very happy housewife. All the loud obnoxious people who used to make fun of me? Yeah, they really dig that they get free food from their various food service jobs. It's called karma, if you act like an ass, you're going to get shit. Try being a decent, understanding person why don't you?

Been there. Done that. You're not alone!

OP, that's nothing to be ahsamed of. I go through the same kind of social anxieties, and I can say with confidence that the more you get out of your comfort zone the easier socializing becomes. I used to be too terrified to even talk to someone, and even though I'm not some great people person, I can get along pretty well and am doing better with each month. Keep up the good work!

Don't be down. I'm the exact same way. I have to like stalk the person for a few minutes before I get enough nerve to walk over and ask them my question. Shy kids unite!
