He's just turned 18, he thinks it's hilarious now and then it'll calm down in like two weeks. It's an 18-year-old habit to call you dad, it won't just die cause he wants to. I'm 25 now and I used to call my mom mommy until very late teens. Then I realised it sounded kind of childish so I now refer to her as mom in conversations and frankly try to avoid calling her anything directly to her face as nothing but mommy sounds quite right to me. If I desperately have to, I say mom or her full name in more serious matters, but could never imagine calling her just her name. I literally called her mommy in public just a few days ago out of instinct/habit.
call him Son,sweetie or my little man until he stops

Start charging rent since he doesn’t want to treat you like his parent anymore
As long as you are now on an equal basis, then make it equal all the way. Tell him now that you are equals he pays rent and for anything else he gets (food, car, etc.). And no more allowance, now that he is a big independent guy.
