Take it all away and say nothing until u r great full for it
I was eight when my mother began teaching me about the value of money and things like that. And if we wanted something, we worked for it(there surprises from time to time if we were good and helped because we wanted to do so). If he wants anything in the future, he is not too young to be doing some chores and helping with somethings around the home. Nip this in the bud before it gets worse as he gets older.
Kids are becoming more and more ungrateful.
And that's what you get for raising your kid to be an ungrateful brat. Give them everything and they EXPECT more. Learn to say NO once in a while.
I get a sumptuous dinner with my favourite dishes and I'm perfectly happy with that. Damn kids should learn to enjoy the simpler things in life.
It might have been the backpack and shoes that confused him. He must have been thinking, 'School supplies/clothing for presents, really?' and took it as a joke. As for the Nerf gun and action figure... when it comes to presents for special occasions, those are trifles in this day and age. A person goes out and buys those on any old day (assuming they can afford it).
