Today, my son turned 8. We watched as he unwrapped a $55 Nerf gun, extra 'bullets', new shoes and a school bag with his favorite TV character on the front and a action figure inside. As he finished he looked me straight in the eyes and says, "That's great ma, but seriously what'd you get me?". FML

I hope you kept the receipts. That ungrateful little brat doesn't deserve any of those presents. He obviously feels self-entitled, so time to teach him some tough love or he'll just end up being a shitty adult.

Oh man when i was little i loved getting new stuff still do but that would be the ultimate excitement to me a new bookbag AND toys in it.. Best birthday ever! Kids these days

Next year instead of giving him any gifts, how about a trip to a third world country? You guys could visit all the orphans on the streets, watch them sleep on carton boxes. While you are there, have fun with the kid, tell him that you are thinking of replacing your child with one of the more appreciative kids on the streets. Parents did that to me when I was living in the Philippines.
