OP acts like they have NEVER asked a stupid question in their life. Teachers tell you that no questions are ever stupid. They tell you not to be afraid to ask questions that way you can learn instead of just assuming.
My teacher never says that because of all the stupid questions. One kid once asked if Hitler was jewish. Another asked if a penguin was a frog.
Well, you're hearing it now. Take that advice and ask about sentence structures.
You should have told her she was adopted, that's why she doesn't have the same accent as the rest of the family. Then tell her that your spouse is actually your first cousin.
If she doesn't have an accent, then its common logic that its no.
Is accent a genetically inherited trait? No. However, if parents teach a child to talk, and spend a lot of time talking to them, they can impart an accent on them. People think I'm from where my late dad was from, but I've never lived there -- I just picked up some of his accent. Nowadays, kids "inherit" the accent of their nanny or of their day-care attendants.
Ptshh! What a moron. Everyone knows that accents are sent from the aliens. They choose certain parts of the world and bless them with a certain accent. (Just kidding. I know accents depend on where you come from.) Tell your daughter that, OP.
Silly girl didn't she know? You can also inherit your taste of music as well as bathroom patterns (sarcasm). Don't schools teach what is and isn't hereditary?

I hope stupidity isn't. Or your unborn grand-babies are screwed.
